The origami crane is an international symbol of peace, and folding 1000 cranes is associated with wishes for healing in Japanese culture. These 1000 origami cranes, each flying together as one flock, represent my own prayer for peace and healing.
Designed and folded in 2020, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the protests for racial equality, and the contentious run-up to the US presidential election.
